front axle seals

does anyone know how much it would cost to have a dealer replace the front differential seals and axle u joints on my 97 ranger? 4.0L 4x4. 5 speed. thanks. would do it myself but don't have the time.

I would have to say right around $500

hmmm. thats actually not to bad. i was expecting somewhere around $1000, cause of everything that has to come apart.

well i stopped at ford today. total estimate, for the ujoints, axle seals and labor was $500. he said the labor would probly be a bit more though because of all the rust makes it difficult and more time consuming. which is exactly why i'm not doing this repair myself. i'd rather drop the tranny again....
