Hello,

My engineer machinist buddy was cleaning out some old stuff when he found a small quantity of the "Free Floating Rocker Arm Spacer Kits" he had assembled for the Ford 2.9L, 60°V6's.

I have been using them in both my 87 Ranger and 87 BII for many years and very happy with the reduced rocker arm load and all the benefits they unleash.

Are any off you interested in clearing out his stock and operating a less restricted top end, more efficient powerplant?

I recall that "Gaz" never posted the information regarding these free-floating rocker kits a while back, after he said he would. Careful PetroleumJunkie412, the odds are better that he's a Nigerian Prince than that he actually has access to these kits.

I'm running a set in mine currently too... So far, I like them. They didn't solve the lifter tick, but they're good in other ways. Once I put 1000 miles on them, I'll post an update.

Yes I would be. Is the spacing on the 2.8 the same as the 2.9? I know the towers are different but seem to think the spacing on the rockers is the same.

Sup 85_Ranger4x4; been a couple days RIGHT.

Looks like I will be able to meet up with my buddy towards the 1st week of the month. He is feeling like letting them go on eBay but is happy to offer some to the TRS group.

**$50 a set including shipping/handling**

**I reside in Bremerton Washington**

I have been here since 07, I pretty much read and unless I know I can help, keep my mouth shut. This is not my job nor am I an overall authority on the world or it's people. Just a bubba that took Sven's book as true and tried everything in it that was practical for me.

To clarify, I have access to these kits, they will be dispursed to those who want them.

BrownRangers; I am not certain about the spacing on the 2.8. IF I can locate one in the yard, I'll get back to you.

Nez'sRanger; hate to evoke "the realm of naysayers" but valve train ticking is not required in your motor. It is most probably the result of improperly adjusted rockers; though in my experience, these valve trains could stand a thorough parade rest cleaning sometime between 50k-100k (probably be prudent to do when you change your timing gear set, my manual dictates that procedure @80k miles).

Uncle Gump; as I recall you didn't have a 2.9 but my buddy may be able to help with a set for your 4.0 OHV, if you still have it.

snoranger; Thanks for the BUMP ..)

I look forward to being able to offer more. Thank you for the feedback ???

How is your buddy going to help out with a set for a 4.0, if he has sets for a 2.9? How many of these 2.9 sets does he have? Is he making them? Is he still making them?

You are mistaken. I'm not disappointed Gas. "No expectations, no disappointment". I would have to first trust you in order to have any expectations that you could deliver what you say you have access to. Actually (based on your own statements on the subject of Ford 2.9 V6 valve adjustments, etc), I think you're full of yourself, and you're just here to troll us all again, as you did before.

And anyone that sends you $$ for the apparent vaporware that you claim to have access to, is less than wise. Have your "engineer machinist buddy" (which I suspect is either you, or he simply doesn't exist) put the vaporware/rocker spacer kits on eBay where they'll have some guarantee that they won't be ripped off. You don't have a suitable reputation to sell merchandise to forum members here, based on your flaky statements and refusal to divulge information that you offered to freely give. And the little information that you did finally give regarding your far superior valve adjustment technique, was only so in your own eyes.

So if you are actually an honest person, and you don't want people to think you're a troll, try coming back down to earth with us mere mortals, and either put up or shut up.

Jim Oaks: I asked him if he would consider making sets for the 4.0L too. He told me that he would be happy to take a look at 4.0 rocker arms .)
