Frame compatibility 96-01

So a friend of mine has a 96 his nephew wrapped around a pole. I found a 2 for 1 deal on a extended cab ranger and the guy is getting rid of a 01 frame. You guys think a 96 cab will fit on the 01 frame?

You didn't say if 2wd or 4wd, and you didn't say if a bare frame or full running gear, but the frames changed pretty significantly between 97 and 98.

As rubydist mentioned, the frames changed significantly in 1998. Also, the frames must match what you have. Regular cab with regular cab, Supercab (extended) with extended cab. Also, drive type needs to match unless you are stripping the sheetmetal from one truck and plunking it down on the other. Some internal panels might need to be changed as well if going from RWD to 4X4. One thing I'm definitely not sure on is if you are going from automatic to stick. I'm not sure if there is a bolt on panel in the floor for the stick shift or not. You could make the frame you are asking about work but it may take some fabrication and welding to do it.

It would be better to find a truck 1997 or earlier that matches what you have.

I didn't know I was assuming it was a regular cab fram 4x4 like the wrecked one i wasnt sure about the width of the rails and mounting points. Do we have those measurements in the tech library? Some thing like this I found online

Guy said it was an exploder frame. Im gonna grab it anyway. We are just gonna do what we did years ago when you had a wasted Ramcharger body

and good powerwagon cab lying around.
