While changing my transmission fluid and filter, I found 5 little pieces of metal. The interesting thing is they are all the same size and shape. They look like little pistons and a 4th the size of a pea. Wondering what they are and why they're there.

Likely spacers out of the pan gasket, not certain about the pea sized one

They were put in at the last transmission shop to sell new transmission on the next servicing :)

Any symptoms of transmission problems?
Or is this just a servicing of trouble-free automatic trans

Trouble free fluid change. They are about 1/32 of an inch across and high. They are round like a piston or slug. No problem with shifting. One time I found a 7/16 socket in a chevy tranny.

They are built into the pan gasket to keep over torqued bolts from pushing the gasket plum out of the pan
