What else can forscan be used for besides programming keys?

It can program speedo on HEC clusters 2004+.

Forscan.org to download the software.

You need a windows laptop and an OBD2 USB adapter as well.

Forscan does not do everything, but it’s definitely pretty useful beyond keys. Fixed a few problems with its help that the typical autozone code read didnt answer

I'll let you know next week. I plan to add the off road gauges (pitch, roll and steering angle), activate the terrain management (requires a new switch with the TM button, change the splash screen to RAPTOR or ST. Lots of people, it seems, like to be able to run the fog lamps while the high beam is on (Bambi mode).

Yes, I've got a 2021 and a 1999. Both XLT 4x4. I'm not sure but I don't think FORScan can do much on the older truck except the normal OBD codes.

If you are needing to recalibrate your speedo for another reason then this may not help.

It does a lot of stuff beyond reading codes! My buddy used it to add hill descent control and calibrate the speedometer on his F250, you can also use it for adding features like cruise control if your truck didn't come with it... or bleeding ABS valves...stuff like that. Super cool program.

i have a $3 knockoff elm238 obdii wifi/bluetooth scanner. can someone recommend something better in the $10-30 ranger?

On an 04 probably only the abs bleeding would apply.
