365 hp from 2 turbos? Ford did a good job selling that motor.

They have a Taurus too...that may not seem like a lot of power for twins, but they but them to last. Not hit the track and be rebuilt in 5k

Yeah, those have been out for a bit. Where I live they have been buying more and more Chevy "caprices".

In Omaha before that they were pretty hot and heavy with the Crown Vic.

Going to Chargers around here... FD got a "Interceptor" Explorer for unknown reasons. There was a brush fire a couple months ago and that thing went SCREAMING past the shop, had to be running 70mph+ in a 45. About 10 minutes later the rural fire truck went lumbering by trying to get a run for the hill. I don't know if at first they thought an Explorer load of guys taking a leak on the fire would put it out or why the big rush was to get on the scene without any real equipment... nobody was hurt just somebody was burning trash and it caught some weeds on fire.

And yet you still see them with the Freightliner ambulance (the big one) getting groceries. :eyeroll:

They're both available without the ecoboost obviously, and I think there are quite a bit more on the road without them. I saw a Ex interceptor in Ohiopyle PA as a Park Ranger this weekend actually, theres a few Taurus' running around here, all without the ecoboost.

You expected more? Its a production v6 man! I have one in my F-150, its got way more power than any 5.4 ever did (other than the lightning), and gets a few mpg better, There are guys out there who are pushing 500 and have nothing more than an exhaust, intake, and a good dyno tune.

I wonder how many cops will think "Interceptor" and try to keep up with the 4.6 powered Crown Vics around a curve? I see a whole new rash of SUV rollovers coming.

The California Highway Patrol bought a whole bunch of these.

Ford wouldn't label it an 'Interceptor' if it didn't handle. There's a Special Service Vehicle for police use, and an Interceptor for pursuit use. These are Interceptors.

So it's close enough to the older cars cops likely won't be able to roll it? That must have some serious traction control going on. Either that or it reinforces my theory that cops in this area are idiots.

Thanks for the schooling.^
