I work for a Ford dealer, what we were told is they're moving ALL super duty production to Avon Lake, so that the *edited* Kansas plant will be strictly F150. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the chassis cabs, presumably the econoline or it's replacement, is what's getting sent away.

I didn't know they were even making '150's in Kentucky. I thought they were just in Detroit and Kansas City.

So, OK, I’m enjoying my time with TRS, and for the most part I’m highly impressed with the members. Unfortunately, as good as you guys are, I think it is unlikely that you’re going to solve the current political overcast on this country.

So I thought it might be helpful if I shared another one of Rick’s Tips, a practical cost-effective solution to a nationwide problem.

I know when I’m hanging around the kitchen and I have to change channels, it’s a small matter of time before I get the keys of the remote control sticky. So I came up with this. It works perfectly, and I have now adapted it to the remote control in the shed of miracles. I hope it does not affect the employment of too many remote control repair people.

Back to the original topic, on a serious note, everyone should know their elected officials. They actually love to have folks come to the meetings or open houses and chat with them. They know for each person they talk to, those opinions represent hundreds or thousands that don’t participate. And more important than you knowing them, you should interact enough that they know you by name. There is nothing to fear, and it is actually worth it’s weight in gold when you might need some help from the town.

& hey, If you don’t, at least try the remote control in the baggie thing. It works best in bachelor households.

They know for each person they talk to, those opinions represent hundreds or thousands that don’t participate. And more important than you knowing them, you should interact enough that they know you by name. There is nothing to fear, and it is actually worth it’s weight in gold when you might need some help from the town.

I work for the county, I’m a shop steward, and on the contract bargaining committee... I deal with and talk to the county freeholders more than most people.
As far as township... I know the mayors last name because everyone bitches about him on Facebook.

To be fair, most mayors in NJ end up in prison. It's sorta a proud state tradition, like not being able to pronounce the word 'water' and unnecessary traffic circles.

@Dirtman you are preaching to the choir. I was born in Englewood hospital and I was raised in North Bergen on 74th St. on top of the Palisades. I sort of left after high school, stayed in college all year round, spent a year in Africa (Colgate Palmolive), and then ended up in Somerville (Johnson & Johnson) for just one year. Got the opportunity to come to Atlanta and I never looked back.

I dated a North Bergen city councilman’s daughter for about 90 days in high school. I never understood why there were always seven or eight huge guys in great suits hanging around in her house after school (all the time), and her mother just constantly fed him, the spread of food across the dining room from early morning till late at night. I was so naïve, I didn’t get it at your all.

I did enjoy it when we wanted to go somewhere, and two of those guys jumped in a brand new Cadillac and took us wherever we wanted to go, and then shadowed us while we were there. Never got it till I was like 35 years old...

A area Mayor’s son (no names) hit me when I was riding a bike. He was in a fancy car and he was drunk as a skunk. The entire police department up to the chief showed up-and they all stood around-til the Mayor got there. They took me to the hospital and got me a couple of stitches, and then brought me home. That mayor came to meet my mom and dad a couple days later to have a “sit down.“ My mom and dad didn’t realize that was their golden ticket, and they just had the mayor replace my bike. It was the nicest bike any of us have ever seen. I think I had an angel on my shoulder through high school after that. BTW, back then, the mayor’s salary was $5500 per year, a part-time job. Well, he was mayor for 17 years, and he made $58 million! He resigned when his name came up on Giuliani’s Cosa Nostra tapes...

I could tell a bunch of stories (but I enjoy my life), a big one as recently as hurricane Sandy (we still have property in Hoboken).

BTW, just as crooked here, just more quiet about it.

In my small town (pop 6000) the mayor isn't hard to spot. Only guy in a black Jaguar flying around town. Only guy with a Jag period too...

Hahaha, All the guys I knew back in the day, and the guys down here, are smart enough to be “pre-Gotti” in their appearance. Most drive something like a Crown Vic, and the flashy ones will drive a dark town car or Cadillac, that’s as far as it goes.

"We are beefing up Super Duty. This is a future program..."

You can also use a condom. Great conversation starter when you have guests.
