Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
torsion bars. blah

i actually have to get under and lift the front a little more. the front wheels are camber'd in a bit at the top and the truck still has a fair amount of rake on it. it doesn't bottom out on bumps but i would like it closer to level and the tires more upright.

still a good little truck though. i think it was worth the 3k i gave for her and i am impressed on the 18.5mpg i am getting when i travel all over texas doing 80-85.
Someone makes a coilover conversion for t-bar trucks.. get out there and embarrass some miatas.
Yeah, ford ditched the car-like front end for a design that will use more fuel

i found the orw site but it says its for xlt/xl 2wd, not edge trucks. and reading it, it appears to be for regular suspension trucks so maybe that's why it says those models and leaves the edge out?

That's OK, they'll just make a Hybrid or all electric Ranger to counter act the areodynamicality ( I just made that up ) of a brick.

On one hand, torsion bars and the bigger front crossmember are not ideal. But on the other hand...it's super cheap/easy to drop it and coilover conversions are about as easy as they get with that front end.

where is the lowering kit and conversion kits? i did a quick google and only found the off road warehouse page and it doesn't list the edge on the kit so i wasn't sure if it was the right one

By "cheap and easy to lower" I meant crank the bars down and/or flip the keys. I've never had a torsion bar truck, but that's how I've seen it done by others. The rear can be done by pulling the lift block, and if that's not enough then you can do a shackle flip for the price of some nuts/bolts to get another 2 inches or so.

I'm not super familiar with ORW's offering, can you share a link? Most of the coilover conversions that are done are geared towards off road trucks that want lift and longer travel so they do mods to fit a longer shock. For a lowered truck I'm guessing you could run the coilover in almost the exact same location as the factory shock absorber. It might require some minor modification to the upper or lower mounts, but definitely nothing more involved than the welding in most of the offroad kits. I'm guessing with careful shopping you might even find an option Like these Ridetech's that could be pretty close to bolting in based on the pic from the tech library:

That's what I was thinking in the kit.

It was lowered all the way in the front when I got it. It was sitting on the bump stops and rode like a skateboard. It was horrible.

I will end up not messing with it since it's torsion bar. I know I won't try anything. And it's to nice a little truck. If it was a spring front end, I would probably do it really quickly.

I lifted the front that little bit to try and get it more level. It looks better
