Okay so i've gone around to various shops looking for the bypass cable for the amp in my truck. 1993 Ford Ranger. Every shop has told me the truck doesn't have an amp but there is one behind the passenger side front kick panel. All the aftermarket connectors I have currently found have the wrong connections. I've tried to use parts from the same year explorer with no luck. The aftermarket plus has one side as an 8 pin across and the other connection is a 6 pin on top and 2 on the bottom which that connector fits in on one side but the 8 pin across isn't even close. Has anyone else ever dealt with an amp bypass that didn't have to rewire the whole thing?

Well, for one, Howdy and welcome to TRS.

Second: Pictures of your parts? I can't really visualize it.

This info is from the12volt.com.

1993 did offer a 4 channel amplifier, located exactly where yours is.
I'll take some photos from the 1993 Schematics book tonight for you.

Send me a Private Message with your e-mail address and I will send you those schematics.

Welcome to The Ranger Station.

Somewhere around here I have a purpose made amp bypass cable that I'm not using and am unlikely to ever use.

Let me look around my cluttered garage and see if I can find it...

Metra sells a bypass kit with all the connectors and wiring you need. It's on Amazon for about $16. Search for Metra 70-5605.
