I done told you mine don't qualify for any of that stuff. It only covers pre 2016 models. My transmission works great as long as you go straight at full throttle and don't slow down. The shifts are lightning fast as long as they go directly from 1 through 6. It only gets confused when it has to figure out whether to downshift or upshift, so I avoid turns and stop signs.

Why did you buy one with an auto anyways?

You had to get the full on high school girl version?

The dual clutch has better fuel economy and the manual was an option not standard equitment so it was more expensive. I wasnt gonna pay more money and waste more gas just for the ability to go weeeeeeee because I have a clutch pedal.

Just the right size to touch the ground.
The dual clutch "manual" transmission...
I've got a 2013 Focus sitting in my yard right now that will not go into reverse. Forward gears are questionable. Sometimes it will engage, sometimes it won't. I plan to get with Ford this week to see if they're going to buy it back or fix it on their dime. It's sitting at 105k miles. I bought it with about 20k on it and complained to the dealership pretty early on about the occasional stuttering it had in 2 through 4.

It's easier to explain what didn't...

Everything from just bad software, to clutches and servos.

The whole concept of how they work requires the computer to do alot of "thinking", the computer not only controls the shifts, but also need to calculate and predict what the next shift will be. If youre crusing along in 4th, the computer needs to pre select the next gear. Which could he 5th or 3rd. It's wrong alot...

Thats the issue with mine, the older ones were much more catastrophic than inconvenient and annoying.

I'm glad Ford got the Europeans to help engineer those, we didn't have hardly any problems with 11 and earlier Focus transmissions and it got kind of boring. The Focus and Fiesta are decent little cars- if they have a clutch pedal.

Festiva's were built by Kia based on an outdated Mazda design. I never liked them, among other things, the front wheel bearings weren't a sealed, press in unit like most front wheel drives. They had to be assembled and shimmed for proper fit, there were 52 shims to pick from. You had to disassemble the whole mess to get the rotors off. If you consider buying one, wait until you sober off before paying for it.

Oh, this festiva is getting junkyarded to the max, interior pulled, a really sh*tty cage put in it, and turned into a rollover machine.

I need to learn how to drive now. Like - how to push a vehicle to the 'flatout' point. I've had my challenger for 6 years, and it just hit the point on the odometer where i can start pushing it.

Festiva or similar tiny hatchback (Justy) seemed like the obvious choice for a 'eat sh*t' dirt road special.
