The last pic and reference thread show the 87-9? fullsize 1-1/8" master with the plastic reservoir. It might or might not work but after making to parts stores worth of parts guys beat their heads against the wall trying to find the fitting in the picture I found that a F8UZ-2C161-AA valve is needed to go into the back port for it to work. It is an extra $50+ and is seemingly not available aftermarket.

Oh wait, nevermind. I did a quick Google of your Ford part number and it looks like you've found it the cheapest with free shipping..

Here is some interesting reading on the subject:

If it were me, I'd be making some junkyard trips.

I am bailing out, luckily I got it locally so I am going to trade it for the cast iron one in morning (they don't stock the '86 MC)

I figured the calibration would be goofy in a different vehicle than it was designed for anyway. Not worth $50 for a new one or at least three hours of my weekend and half a tank of gas to find out.

Why would you go for the one with the plastic reservoir anyway? I thought everyone used the earlier model with the metal lid and snap type closure?

Looks better IMO, aluminum and plastic don't rust. Also what I am used to seeing in my truck.

The second referance thread in the tech article the guy used the later one which is what inspired me to try it.

Some epoxy paint before install would do wonders.. Just have to be careful with those brake fluid spills and leaks..
