My credo
A legend to the old man, a hero to the child...
"Hey Chip, yeah this is @PetroleumJunkie412, my uncle @rusty ol ranger has been trying for years to restore his beloved 1987 Ranger and really needs help with the bodywork and powertrain." "Yeah, you can do whatever with the paint but keep in mind his favorite color is a purple they used on Toyota minivans." "Powertrain?" "Yeah he is huge into Subarus and is infatuated with the 4U-GSE out of like a Scion FRS, he is kinda old so you probably should go with an automatic too." "Yeah it would take a lot of frame modification to fit the flat four but it would really mean the world to him if you could make it happen." "Of course, he is very into audio you had better go all out on that too, he has been wanting to get one with voice control if you can find one of those”

Then on a burner phone: "Hey PJ, this is Rusty, I somehow got tickets to a Sven Pruitt book signing, you in? Cool meet me here."

And just like that, I divided by 0

And PJ can get the beating he wants plus we can all watch it on tv
Dude this just made me choke on my pepsi from laughing.

Well. You just made my day.

Rusty v2.1: Street Truck

Maybe they can give it Alexa/Cortana/Siri to yell at him while he's driving...
If theres ever a street truck rusty its getting 408 stroker and a 4 speed manual. Big DOT draggers and the body will look like it just came off the farm.

My credo
the grey-t escape
I specifically said "heater tubes" because there aren't any radiator hoses on an air cooled engine.
kind of a late-night attempt at humor/satire.
I got it- and laughed!

What? People don't want 20" rims with ultra low profile tires performance tires and a slammed suspension on their off road 4X4 truck? And who doesn't love purple paint?

I didn't say there was anything wrong with upgrading or modifying your machine. Do what you want. If you think that you can make it better than the factory did, go ahead, but it ain't the original. Lord knows there are a million ways to improve on the newer stuff for sure. I just like the old the way it was then. At the time, both the factory and dealership builders worked together and came up with many cases of what was considered pure genius in design and performance; they knew their stuff. I merely said it was kind of a shock to me that a long term Ford dealership from those days would actually recommend a cheap foreign aftermarket part. It had never happened to me before. At any rate, I give up on this thread. The smarty sarcasm is unnecessary. Let's call it a generational draw, k? ;)

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!

Crossed threads are tight threads.
You're still wound up about people calling them extended cabs?
For some reason its easier if you tell them its an explorer.
