1992 Ford Thunderbird AOD transmission with a Transgo shift kit and High Rev Governor kit installed. I also have all stock parts for it and the leftover shift kit parts. The overdrive band is burnt up in it, or it's not getting enough pressure to the OD servo piston. It shifts VERY strongly. It will chirp or spin the tires hitting 2nd gear. All gears work perfectly except for OD.
It'd be a perfect trans for a derby car, or fix the OD band (easy to get to once pump is removed) and use it in your street car or truck. Original mileage is 31,000 and came from an elderly couples wrecked 5.0 Thunderbird LX. I have more pictures to prove the mileage it had on it when purchased with my low mileage 302 that it was originally mated to, and the date I bought it.
I tried to run it in my V8 swapped Ford Ranger but switched to a T5 because of the OD band. This is the last and strongest year for the AOD. A good, low mileage, solid base to build a street and strip transmission. Comes with the stock torque convertor, flex plate, and stock pan.
I only used this transmission for less than 15 miles during testing. I modified the factory trans gear selector lever to work with the Lokar shifter, but it can be put back to original with very little work.
