Please don't do that. Those transmissions had more than they could handle with a 2.9.I have the stock 5spd manual in my '87.
If I wanted to swap in a 3.7 and also wanted a manual, what stock tranny would work w/o having to change the transfer case, etc. Please don't do that. Those transmissions had more than they could handle with a 2.9.
I don't think you'll find one that'll just drop in. I think the 3.7 shares a bellhousing face with the 3.5 EcoBoost used in F150 4x4s but it's going to be expensive and require fabrication. If I wanted to swap in a 3.7 and also wanted a manual, what stock tranny would work w/o having to change the transfer case, etc.
It seems they do have the same bolt pattern.I don't think you'll find one that'll just drop in. I think the 3.7 shares a bellhousing face with the 3.5 EcoBoost used in F150 4x4s but it's going to be expensive and require fabrication.
