The problem with multi-carbed setups, and even fuel injected setups with multiple throttle bodies, is getting them balanced. It is done all the time, especially on boat motors and motorcycles, but it's a fiddly process. I was going to make one large box that sat on all 3 port openings and then put a small 4bbl on top.

The one thing I did not like about k 1000.

But I loved riding it.

When I looked at the manifold... I seen those throttle bodies at the bottom of the page. I have some experience with these type set ups...

I did a blow threw turbo EFI system on an bored/stroked air cooled VW. The dual throttle bodies were based on down draft Delorto 48 tri jets. The system run a basic stand alone speed density engine management system and was flashed with a very basic strategy that was base/tweaked GEO Tracker software. It had an operator controlled dash tuner that would alter fuel from bottom to top and a fourth control for boost. It ran really well... until my business partner fooled with the tune. He just couldn't help but turn the little knobs. It dyno'd at 340 horse... with a bunch of room for more.

It would be a bunch of money to put that system together... but I honestly think the results would be impressive...

I use to dial in multiple carb's by moonlight... it really isn't that hard. The biggest thing I use to see was junk linkage... you'll never make it right with junk linkage.

72-82 is possibly the worst 10 year span in automotive history. :icon_rofl:

Gas shortages and emissions regulations during that time made for some of the worst ideas and crappiest cars ever built. No thanks, I'll take a modern computer controlled engine any day over one of those lumbering dinosaurs.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
I wasn't alive in either of those years.

Jerk.
Fun fact for you young guys in PA. Read up on hurricane Agnes in 1972 when the Susquehanna River invaded Harrisburg - big time.

I was there.

I've been past Knoebels but never in the park. We moved to Berwick in 1979 just before I started high school.
