I have a fm145 in my 87 broncoII, and it was making a lot of noise in all gears other than 4th. So I figured bearings and pulled the trans. Have not broken the trans down much yet but can def notice the slop in the input shaft. Found bearing, seal, gasket, and synchro kits and am planning on ordering one. Is this a huge project needing specialty tools? I am a power plant mechanic for a living and rebuild gear boxes at work so this is pretty teeny tiny for me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Zach J.

Also already have a new clutch kit with slave and throw out bearing. Junk yard sold me a trans, but its the 146 and to long. Do not feel like spending the time and money to lengthen/shorten my drive train to use it so its going back.
