Flying for the first time since 2018

Are we just ignoring how casually we glossed over the tips on how to avoid exploding engines and where to sit for best crash survivability?

All the videos in a&p school made it seem like there was no good spot to survive crashing, unless it was in the water. Exploding engines, yeah, behind them. They blow up in our test cells once every teo or three years and demolish the test cells. 12 inch bullet proof glass saves the operators but the rest of the cell is done for that year.

We flew Cleveland to Portland back in June with our 2 kids and had zero problems. We flew Delta.

I prefer to sit ahead of the wing, a lot quieter there.

It doesn’t seem like much, but the noise level in the cabin of an airplane is elevated enough to cause hearing damage if exposed for long periods of time.

I’ve talked with some other stewardesses and they all seemed to having trouble hearing. I try to wear earplugs when I fly.

Flew AA from Charlotte to Allentown. Zero issues. Actually arrived ahead of schedule.

the new to me ranger actually made the drive without any issues.

Id rather drive an 87 yugo with no brakes and one tie rod across the country then get on a plane.

Statistics show flying on a plane is the safest forum of travel. Distance traveled/ accidents.

Oh i know. I just feel car accidents are much more survivable.
