I looked but never found an exact answer.
My truck has a 7.5 that came off an 84 and has the small ujoints of the time. Im doing an engine swap soon but want to keep the current rear end, until it grenades, and reuse my current driveshaft, retaine the 2.5 pattern, or get an f150 shaft that will bolt to the larger 3 inch flange. Will a flange from an 8.8 bolt to a 7.5 that I have? I can get a flange off an 8.8 that has the 2.5 holes drilled in it already and Im just looking for quick way to get it all bolted up.
Or will a flange from the later 7.5 that have the 3 inch holes bolt to an earlier axle, such as mine?
Basiclly my plans are, upgrade current flange to 3inch one with 2.5 holes, if possible, then reuse current driveshaft and if not then use an f150 shaft that has the 3 inch flange holes and still have my current 7.5 and then later down the road upgrade to the exploder 8.8.
Transmission is hooked to an np208 with rear slip yoke. Any conversion joints for the ranger shaft for them? My current transfercase has a yoke and not a flange as the output, BW1350.
Sorry if it sounds confusing, thats why I asked, it basiclly the last thing that I am unsure about.
