Hey guys, first time owning a truck, gotta say I'm likin it so far, despite a few major "speed bumps" I've had to overcome.
Bought my 93 xl 4x4 for $900 a few weeks ago, was owned by a 68 year old who claimed he looked after it. Any way... 4km down the road, the thing dies, like it's ran out of gas, cept there was plenty of gas lol. Towed it home for free thanks to good roadside coverage, looked into it, ended up being the fuel pump, so I replaced that, and then the truck had no guts, bad compression, ended up replacing both heads, found some rebuilt ones at the salvage yard.
Current items at hand:
Exhaust... picked up stuff for a 2.5 inch exhaust exiting in front of the rear tire, with a dynomax ultra turbo muffler.
sound ok?? opinions wanted.
Power... Definitely a issue somewhere here, feels more like a 3.0l, scanned codes and it came up with a 411(can't control low idle), been looking into it, don't know what to try here, I'm thinking maybe a CKP sensor at this tims, or maybe it's the clogged cat/exhaust. I've tried the maf, tps. Don't think a bad iat, iac, or cts could give effects like I'm currently having. I have low power, the engine vibrates more than I think it should at idle, sort shaky, if the rev's are below 1900 rpm in higher gears, it gets really shaky and angry.
I know this isn't where I should post my problems, but I don't know where to go yet, I'll catch on.
