Welcome to the forum.

We don’t want to see snow pictures yet. We get enough of that when it is winter.

Nice are you at the very beginning? I started in April. My motor is halfway back together and my frame is coated.

It was a free truck, a mechanic is swapping the engine. Straight and clean, only one rusty fender that was obviously swapped. I can and have done such, but old fart now, don’t want the strain. Rebuilt with updated heads. Other than that and safety items, I’m trying to see how cheap I can do it and end up with smiles. See my thread “Rick-storation.”

man that’s crazy. Would you believe my truck was “free” also? I bought it for my wife’s cousin who payed me back then the truck wouldn’t start and she had already lost the wiper arms so she called me and said if I could get it started I could have it. And now here I am.

I got mine back from the shade tree about 4-5 weeks ago. Engine purred like a kitten, and everything was working except the A/C. I had towed it to Atlanta from Greenville, SC with my F250, but I didn’t realize the tires were bad until I tried to drive it home from the shop. I think one of the tire treads was coming apart. I lost the brakes and it started to overheat because of a leak in the radiator before the tire blew and had to get towed home. Life is an adventure, huh? I haven’t touched it much since, I’ve got several projects at once.

I think I’ll get the radiator and leak in the brake line in the next couple weeks, and I’m going to swap the wheels and tires with the wheels and tires on my 97 (I have other wheels and tires for the 97). That should get it back on the road where I can really start to evaluate it in detail.
