Yea, I'm Locomotive Machinist. We use alot of those but, most now use turbo instead of blowers. That one is probaly in the 4000HP range at 900RPMs not bad for a two stroke engine.. LOL

Holy crap!! That is some serious HP!! Not sure if you know about it but that motor is at the Tenn Vally RR.. They restore Trains for future Generations.. They are a museum but don't get any gov funding and use volunteers.. They even have a place to stay for the weekend and what not.. I am thinking on volunteering my painting skills.. I'v never worked on a train so I think it would be kinda cool.. If you don't mind me asking what part of Ga are you in?

Yep. They are very proud of that one too. It was moved from Macon to Chattanooga and saved from the scrap yard. It has a 25 horse electric motor.
It is very cool! The guy talking about it said they use to be called strong arms cause four men use to spin the train around before electic motors were put on them...

Them things are cool! Even my girlfriend enjoyed it and was impressed.. I think she commented it was one of the coolest things she had ever seen!! You have a very cool job from hearing you talk about it... I was watching the jobs on CSX for a while about a year ago.. It was rare one came along that I wanted so I gave up..
