The guy who does sales training was in yesterday to tell us what's new with the 2024 Ranger, and he was driving a (pre-production) Lariat 4wd. The styling, as you have no doubt already seen, is much more like the F-150 on the outside. The interior is greatly improved - the seats are very comfortable, they included Sync 4A and a big screen so you have all the cool technology, and it is now possible to get integrated trailer brake controller and 360 degree camera and pro trailer backup and enhanced park assist etc. They are very well done and I think they will be a big hit. The 2.7L engine is still "sometime this fall" for when it will be possible to order, so no telling when they will actually be available.

I’d hate to see the sticker price on one. My loaded ‘23 Lariat Tremor cost $48k.

From different things I’ve heard about the 2.7, I’m not sure I would be interested in getting a truck with one. A guy I work with has an F-150 with the 2.7 and hasn’t had any problems that he mentioned but he is the kind of person that doesn’t fix things until the vehicle is dead broke either.

Actually when i was researching F150's the 2.7EB seemed to be the more reliable of the EB's.

Still wish they stuff a 5.0 in it...and the bronco. Or even a godzilla

I work with a guy who has a Canadian F150 with a 2.7 and he likes it. Seems to do a decent amount of towing with it since he has a larger boat that he takes out and stays out for a few days at a time.

I towed a trailer with 2 Can-am quads and my SxS on it using my buddy’s 2.7L F150. It hamore than enough power.
For those that don’t know, Can-am 1000s are heavy quads. The whole thing was probably a little under 6k lbs.

I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a F150 with the 2.7L, and it would be even more fun in a Ranger.

Unfortunately, the 2024 will be crew cab only. What they are saying is they are "still evaluating" the supercab and regular cab options. What that means is that unless there is a huge outcry from potential customers about those, they will not exist.

Probably questioning why they got back into the game in general as the midsize market implodes...

I would think reg cabs would really bolster fleet sales.
