They cost more but I would definitely go pressure treated on the 2x4's for longevity. :icon_thumby:
You and I think alike! Just had a bunch delivered to my house.

Floor is out. Starting to not look like a car anymore.

Made up this poster for reference. Should make getting everything back where it should be easier

Started working on the rear end.

Going with a 3 link with a watts link

Built a frame jig so that I can get the frame rails square. Not sure what my wheel offsets will be, but my track width at the wheel mounting surface is going to be 54" front and rear, and the wheelbase is 98"

I am planning on using Michelin TB15 tires, which are 24.5" tall, so that's what I have the Ford 9" rear axle sitting at at the moment

All that is left to do now is everything else!

I have some frame rails and control arms coming. Should start making good progress in the next few weeks.

Had Art Morrison send me some bent rails, crossmembers, and control arms.

Getting everything square isn't easy.

My credo
Lead follow or get out of my way
You should keep the garage door closed... your Ranger will be jealous if it gets a peek and the new project.

Seems the plan is coming together...

Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
How are you going to treat/finish the frame & suspension once everything is together? Powdercoat?

To be fair, the Ranger just had a few years of work put into it, while my Fiat has been in the corner waiting for... 14 years

The frame is going to be welded into the car, since I have now cut out most of the structure of the unibody. So, it'll get primed, painted and undercoated with the rest of the underbody. The rear axle, control arms, etc will all be powder coated, yeah. The question is, what color? The car is going to be white, wheels gold, engine bay black, and interior black.

I can't tell if I'm on the RangerStation or GRM any more!

This build is really cool and I'm glad you're coming back to it. Slow and steady gets it done! I'm learning this the hard way...
