House is standard wood framed. I added the hoist and beams a couple years ago. Was about $600 in steel, hardware, etc. I knew I was going to removing and installing my Ranger Cab, bed, engine, etc. And I also knew I'd need to lift my whole Fiat up to put it on the rotisserie and chassis. It's paid off with how easy it is to move heavy things around. I even used it to unload my toolbox.
Here's some better shots of it. I used 5/8" anchor bolts in the concrete, and have the beams sitting on top of the 3 legs, with 6 1/2" bolts holding them together. The perpendicular beam it bolted to a 3/8" plate I welded on top of the main cross beam.
A standard 2 post lift would be nice, but the ceiling of my garage is too low.
