My credo
the grey-t escape
I rolled my yard then went over it with the spike-toothed areator. @85_Ranger4x4 - looks like great potential there and as a side note, I remember when you announced the name of your son and I couldnt help but think “ I thought he was a allis man?” lol. Ive heard of using a atf/diesel mixture in the cylinders to help free up a stuck engine. My wheel horse isn’t wanting to start after being in hibernation for the last 6 months, no spark and I had put all new ignition components on it before fall, something has failed. Rainy day here so maybe I can figure it out. I spent yesterday swapping winter tires out, doing oil changes and painting the “new” back hatch for the escape. Found a 600 and a 2000 ford online Id like to buy, most likely wont but its tempting.

My wife found it on pinterest, thought it was cute and suggested it. I thought it was neat and it was my great-grandfather's middle name so I said sure thinking it would be neat and something different. Turned out to be like the #3 kids name for 2019...

The oliver been sitting with various concoctions for 15 years. I want to mitey-vac put the cylinders and poke a bore scope in and see what is going on. Then maybe hook a hydraulic hose to a spark plug hole and see if something will move.

I see people riding around with them roller things all the time. For the life of my I can't figure out what the heck they do? Steam rolling the grass? :icon_confused:
People that have grass get bumps in their lawn from worms and moles. The rollers smooth them out.

Is that a sleeved engine? might be able to take off the rod caps and push/pull the whole sleeve/piston assy out the top.

There's something about rusty old tractors that appeal to me. I like the Case. That will be a fun project.
He just got a DC broke loose, next size bigger and a little funkier looking. He is going thru the carb now. He has big hopes it will run with my '45.

Yeah, it's sleeved. Usually if you can't break it loose with soaking and hydraulic pressure something is broke.

Of course too much rust and you can break pistons too assuming the head gasket holds. I want to get a borescope in there and see what is going on first.

AGCO brothers? What?
It's how I avoid catching flak for a non A-C, they are kinda related thru marriage now...AGCO owns both brands now.

What did you use to turn over the garden plot? 2-bottom? If so, great little tractor
It’s just a 12”, single bottom, sleeve hitch Brinley plow. It’s fun to play with.

Wheel Horses are cheap and easy to work on and last forever. I highly recommend them.

That is awesome. Many years ago when we first acquired this property and built on it, I got to use the neighbors FarmAll with a 3-bottom, a disc set-up and cultipacker to prep the 19 or so tillable acres here. It was quite an experience. It had previously been used for corn and soy. We got in touch with Pheasants Forever and turned it back more natural wildlife food source - but that's another story.

Farming on a small scale can be a lot of fun. Large scale...not so sure.

Something new for @Uncle Gump to add to his garden, I don't think he grows it yet.

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Just mowed my lawn for the second time this year. The weeds are growing well and we're tall again just one week after being mowed. But it got chilly again last night. It's 48 degrees with 15-26 mph winds. The chilly wind made my eyes water so it was hard to see. Sheesh! Would rather be working on the Ranger.
