Interesting looking blade, I have been thinking about something similar for gauge wheels. I can set the blade depth but my driveway isn't flat so it never really stays where I want it.

Of course it has been cold enough for the last two snows I just don't deal with it... 4wd don't care.

Good deal with your battery explosion you didn't get hurt, they can do a lot of damage.

they will under the right conditions. Ive only had one other battery explode, and I wasn’t nearby when it happened. It was a battery on charge, not even in anything but charging out in the barn. I went out to check on it and found it had exploded. The one I had explode the other night was 2 years old, was actually out of the ranger. The ranger has the allis battery in it now, same basic battery but just bought it last year. I wasnt sure the exploded battery would be accepted as a core but it was. I put it in a small kitchen trash container and took it in that way, It wasnt even looked at. I just got the usual “put it with the rest of the cores” and I was credited with the $12 and went on my way with the escape & boat trailer to go get the blade some 30 miles away. I left them the trash can too, it had been over the exhaust & air stacks on the tractor since it’s been outside this winter. Really hate that, going to see about some structures, even if its a carport so I can have a roof over things. I have the allis in the garage now, have the potential for 8” coming within the next few days.

I know batteries produce hydrogen, I've seen them get overcharged to the point of boiling and the case swelling but never actually seen one explode.

Hydrogen + spark = underwear change

I believe this is why it is recommended to make the last connection when jump-starting to be the negative, connected to frame or body instead of battery terminal. Seems they always spark a little.

Coop-tastrophe avoided. View from on top of carport. The branches in the foreground are the top of the limb that fell. Lots of fun standing on an ice-covered roof, slowing cutting it away. Fortunately not much slope on it. Like an elephant sandwich, one bite at a time......

Would have been eating a lot of chicken if that hit the coop.... or scrambled eggs

Well it finally happened.

My brother borrowed a trailer from work with removable fenders. My dad had a plate on the front of his Oliver 88 Standard to push/pull with so we nabbed that with the plan of pushing the 77 on the borrowed tiltbed trailer backwards. Fun discovery, 77 front nose is totally different so that didn't work at all. So we pushed it on and got it as close the axles as we could and took the backroads home. My brother reported about 45mph was about all he could stand.

I hauled home dad's SC Case basketcase at the same time with dad's trailer. It has been sitting the weeds forever waiting for somebody to make time for it, dad isn't sure what he is going to do with it at this point but he didn't want his brother to scrap it on him.

I've hauled uglier things but I really can't remember when...







It fought tooth and nail getting on the trailer, actually had to load it twice because it kept wanting to go right because of the rear tire situation. Once on it hauled like a dream though.

And then the Oliver... three tires hold air and one rear holds air for about 5 minutes so we had to work fast. That yellow harbor freight bubble aired it up twice, I was impressed.





The hole in the tire was not hard to find...



I forgot how sleek they look from the cockpit.







This was sad, I NEVER remember this tractor leaving the farm. It was grandpa's #2 tractor and did everything that didn't need a 3pt (mainly ran the rotobaler). Watching it ride away on the trailer just kinda cemented the changes that are coming even though it was headed to my house.



And it is home...



My son (who happens to be named Oliver and not for the tractor company btw) seems to approve.



Tugged it off the trailer with the ol' '45 and parked the two AGCO brothers together.



Immediate plans... I need to get the rear tire replaced and get the engine broke loose. We found the carb in the garage so I have all the parts to make it run minus fuel and radiator caps which somebody swiped. Hopefully someday Oliver might be interested in restoring it for FFA or something, I am going to save the cosmetic stuff for him. My brother and I were chuckling, we don't think the paint has faded a bit since we were kids, minus the lichen it looks exactly the same colorwise as we remember it in the 90's... and really I am ok with it staying like that for now.

There's something about rusty old tractors that appeal to me. I like the Case. That will be a fun project.

Turned over a garden plot for a friend with my 45-year-old Wheelhorse. Then I rolled my yard with my 55-year-old Wheel Horse.

I see people riding around with them roller things all the time. For the life of my I can't figure out what the heck they do? Steam rolling the grass?

Just helps to flatten out the bumps. I built my house on what used to be a plowed field. A little tough to walk on those furrows, so little be little, I rolled out the lumps.. Discing helped a lot too.
