That's where the 8' wide deck over trailer I have comes in handy, is a pain in the rear for a tricycle tractor though... when we brought the IH M back from the auction a few years ago we had to play some games to get the front tires off the trailer since it has two fixed width ramps!

We gotta get that thing going again, it has some aftermarket 3 point with down pressure that's kinda nice for some things but it lost spark...

Back in my tractor pulling days I mastered the art of two ramps. With the above trailer as soon as the rears hit the ground swing the nose over to catch a ramp (I always used the left one). Going on is the reverse but I had to be careful not to slide the ramp.

Deckover... Need not apply, ramps are too long.

Aside from usual ignition fun if your M has a live hydraulic pump ahead of the distributor they are known to wear cam gears and shear keys. Keys can shear in the ignition drive too, especially if it has been converted to the otherwise superior Delco distributor (IH dizzy is horizontal, Delco is vertical)

This is my snow removal tool for the driveway. 1972 Ford 5000. Summertime fun is mostly bushhoggin' or "brush hogging" if you preferc- cutting and clearing paths for riding.

Yeah, deck over trailer was the problem, was too long and wide for the car trailer (12' deck and 6.5' wide between the fenders and no deck past inside of fenders). We loaded it on the trailer with a loading dock but don't have one of those at the farm, ended up putting a ramp from the car trailer between the two long ramps, hokey but worked fine :)

A gasser 5000? That can't be too common, my brother has a slew of Ford tractors, couple 4000's, a 4600, an 8600 and a 9000. One of the 4000's is down from a bad transmission bearing, the 8600 might need the injector pump rebuilt or at least looked at but the rest are used...

My little Kubota is not quite the same as the big guys but it gets stuff done... here it is assisting in pulling a stump that I cut off too short, I had the wife on the tractor lifting the stump and I was driving the Explorer and F350 in turns, yes I should have cut the stump off longer, yes I dented the tailgate on the F350 with that other stump... The other stumps in the background were removed with a mini excevator that I rented to finish one of the post holes, I'm standing in what is now the center of my shop taking the picture :). I didn't have it done yet but the pallet forks I have on the tractor right now would have lifted much better than that stupid undersized loader...

It is rather odd, but it's a trooper nonetheless. Stump pulling is another one of the chores as well as dragging felled timber back to the barn for cutting and splitting. The Emerald Ash Borer did a number on all the ash on our property so what's left is firewood....pfffft....and stumps :censored:

They're predicting 6 to 8 inches here today/tomorrow. No tractor or chains... but I just got my winter boots from the basement and bought a fresh 40ib bag of ice melt yesterday.

I know when I get to Northern Michigan... I'm going to have to seriously upgrade my snow removal equipment. The areas I'm interested in buying property average close to 10 feet of snow annually.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
That reminds me. I should probably keep a box of rock salt in the garage, just in case.

There are some 5' drifts around, not anywhere I have to worry about them. Snow on our road was about a foot deep so we loaded everybody into the '150 and I took my wife to work since I don't think her Edge would be able to hack it.

I lived right across the lake in Chicago so I know the drill. Even though we are more south we got lake affect so more snow to us)) Some of my friends had an Idea of us combining our money and buying a great snow removal machine so we don't have to do all the heavy work one by one. Im reading all about it here https://www.growgardener.com but your thing looks alright. Maybe it is a little bit old but so far I wouldn't change it. Unless of course it gives you problems. But since you only use it in winter then it should be much.
