I'm tryin to remove the factory stereo in my Vic, I picked up some removal tools and the left side is coming out but the right tool just slides out, and I can feel when it sets into where it should be yet it just comes out when I pull. Do the removal tools work on the same principles as key removal tools? If so I can just insert the tool and gently pry out the right side with a flathead.

well if the factory tools are the U shaped ones or even just the side ones what I found is that it works WAY better if you put them in and then pull to the sides as you pull out. almost at 45 degree angles.

yeah. you only want to put them in like 3/4" and then bend them outward to help push in on the tabs. i had a hell of time getting mine out untill i found the trick

It may seem weird, but I find pushing them apart was easiest.
I crossed my arms so my right hand pushed on the left tool and the left hand pushed the right tool.

Then I just started sliding my arms closer to my body and out she popped!
