I've got a "97 Explorer rear axle that I want to install in my '58 Volvo resto-mod.
the calipers will interfere with the coil springs. I'm considering swapping the caliper mounts side to side, which would place the calipers on the front side of the axle, facing the opposite direction from stock.
Are there any concerns with doing this, or should things work OK ? I will have to have new parking brake cables made up anyway, so I'm thinking that shouldn't be an issue, just make them long enough to go behind the axle and come in from the rear if neccesary.
Thanks for any help and advice !
