From my understanding, the previous owner ran with no/low oil. He said it would be less expensive to buy a new motor, then it would to tear apart the current one, and start replacing parts...

damn...well sorry to hear about your luck. Now as for your european engine i couldn't imagine that the engine mounts were much different as long as you stay within your same year and engine model for european or american. The only thing i could imagine happening is you would need a transmission to go with it? i'm no mechanic but good luck with finding a engine!

I think the Ford Sierra was the only one that had the Lima 2.3 in it. Good news though, is that a friend of mine's soldier is selling his 1991 Mustang 4 Cyl. My friend wants the chassis, and I can have the motor....Now if my understanding is correct, the two motors (my truck and the stang) are identical. Can someone clarify this? I know more about modular V8s than this motor...

Unfortunately, the only machine shop I trust around here does not have a flow bench, otherwise I might....Good to know that I am not wasting my money...

Well, got the truck dropped off at the mechanics along with new motor...When we pulled the motor out of the stang, it had 45xxx miles on it. The mechanic is charging me about 300 dollars to swap everything.

I have know the guy for the past 10 years. He is a really great mechanic that specializes in American cars. He is about the only German mechanic that I trust to work on my Mustang too.
