emergency brake help

my emergency brake is very very week!! i push it to the floor and it will barely hold the truck on a slight hill. is ther any way of tightening this or will it need to be fixed? if yes how do i tighten or replace it??thanks

First try to adjust your rear brakes that should take up some of the slack, your brake pedal will feel better also. Then there is a adjusting nut, just behind the driver door on the outside of the frame. If your truck has any age to it its probably set up tighter than a , nevermind. its going to need some penatrating oil.

most rangers dont have a cable adjuster on the cable system, if you have any play or looseness chances are it is from your rear drums being out of adjustment. Unfortunately the star wheels inside the drums that control the adjustment are probably frozen up.
