At first i thought the 300,000 was a misprint...

But then i thought, no, 3000 lbs isnt impressive.

And 30,000 is still waaaaay lofty.

But 300,000??? No way some oversized power wheel....

My world is filled with stuff that needs to be fixed
Electric motors have excellent torque characteristics at low rpm, and there have been wonderful electric vehicles sincevthe dawn of the automobile age. In fact at that time they were relatively more impressive as gasoline powered vehicles stank, leaked, smoked and vibrated.

You still can’t make an automotive transportation system based on electric vehicles. As for freight, put that stuff on electric rail. Then you don’t have to charge anything or haul some battery system around.

Musk is a fraud.

When i worked at the airport we towed c-5's with tugs powered by ford 300 straight sixes. They weighed half a million pounds. Granted they only went 4mph max but they never even grunted. Im pretty sure the c-17s are even bigger and still use the same old tugs.

Low speed is a little different.

My rig was grossing 13k over the scales hauling soybeans last year. 45hp @6mph... it was a white knuckle drive.

I think those 300's made around 100hp. They were all still carbed. The transmission and axle were twice the size of the motor. They had forward, forward 2 (only used to move quick with no load), and reverse. No white knuckle about it unless you turned around and realized what you were moving. We were trained to never look at the plane, just look at the ground crew lest you go insane!

Just the right size to touch the ground.
What did Dale do to make you run over him? Did he leave the gate open in the dell again?

Sorry, couldn't not do it. I tried, I really did, but I'm bored and it was there.

When he saw me flying down the road at half the speed of smell he had plenty of time to get out of the way. ;)

Probably the same bullshit towing capacity test they did with the X that wasn't "actual" towing capacity.

That depends on what part of the country you are in and the natural resources that are available.. Nationwide, less than 30% of electricity generated uses coal as a power source and that amount is going to decrease and be replaced by natural gas.

https://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?id=427&t=3

Coal isn't used to generate electricity at all where I'm located. Most of the electricity here is generated with natural gas and hydroelectric.
