Electric case to manual

I have a 93 ranger Electric shifter i found a manual 1354 in a salvage yard no shifter and I can't seem to find one so ima have to try n make one what size bolt is this ? And any ideas on a easy way to make a shifter.

If you are ok with not having the gates on the shifter, it can be a simple flat piece with a fork on one end the shift knob on the other and a center pivot.

I drove my Choptop for years with no gate, you just have to feel for when it clicks into position. Even at one point I didn’t have a shifter at all for it and had to crawl under (not fun). It’s gated now, but that may or may not change in the future because I would kind of like to have a doubler in it and a twin stick t-case, so three shifters plus the trans…

That I’m not sure of. If you’ve ever grabbed the shift lever sticking out of the T-case and tried to move it by hand, there’s actually a decent bit of resistance there on the 1350 and 1354 cases, so I’m not sure a cable would actually do it, and if it did, you would probably need a pair of cables so you could pull in each direction

Lawn mower cable would not be heavy enough. But there are strong enough cable assemblies to do the job.

I'm in a similar situation swapping a manual 1354 in place of an electric one. I have a complete 1350 manual transfer case and shifter sitting around I can rob the shifter off of but where can I find a shifter boot/bezel? I'm ok with using a universal boot if it comes down to it. Does the floor pan have an access panel I can remove or do I need to cut a hole?

So, shifter boot/bezel is a junkyard thing.

There is a bolt-down plate under the carpet/vinyl floor on top of the transmission hump. It also does the shifter for a manual transmission. You can either get one of those plates from a junkyard for your configuration (which is also where you will find the shift boot stuff) or cut a hole in the plate.

Does the panel remain unchanged up through the 98+ generation? Easiest solution is likely to just get a tunnel cover from an auto trans truck, cut the holes I need and run two universal shifter boots.

Manual t-case shifter boot bezels that go together with the M5OD trans are pretty rare (the M5OD shifter position is farther forward than on earlier trucks where the two shifters together were more common). But after 1997, they are (almost) hen's teeth (only the coveted 2002-2003 FX4 trucks with the Torsen rear diff had them).

You might maybe try car-part.com, search for a 1990-1997 BW1354 manual transfer case, then call up each yard that has one and see if they will part with the floor boot/bezel assembly (I tried a search on there for the shifter boot, but their search engine doesn't seem to be specific enough to bring anything up, so yeah, a phone call may be needed).

Yeah I figured that out. I found a couple cases on car part. Supposedly they've got the whole truck and can get the bezel but they're disorganized idiots so I'm not expecting to see it. I can always cut an additional hole and use a small universal boot but having the right bezel to make it look stock would be nice.

Cabs are similar so maybe? I dunno, never owned any 3rd Gen trucks yet.

I never wound up checking. My stock plate has markings on the foam in the bottom that show me where the shifter will go so I'm just gonna drill through it and then cut/burn a hole in the carpet for whatever universal bezel I buy online
