Where in the power band will & do shorty headers have their best effect is a loaded question, sorry for that....
Depends on how starved the current setup actually is. Typically the shortys do improve torque, and the longer enhance the top end, however in restrictive designs unrestricting the flow can do both. I believe that mis-matching exhaust components does & will create havoc, mostly because of unwanted outcomes, but do we actually realize what is happening anyway except for the louder sounds? I'll love the rumble and any torque gains. But don't want it any louder. MPG could really use a boost.
The inlet is at the 3/8" flange is spec'ed to be 1.5" ID or OD. That's big for a ~ 45 cubic inch (666 cc) cylinder. Oh well I'll see by next year. Need to consult with my hot rod muffler guys regarding the 4ea. O2 sensors and the new Cats. I'm sure that a two into one arrangement may be the only way to go seeing how crowded it is under there. Still getting up past 100 degrees here in this part of Texas, can't wait for fall to get here.
