My credo
Crossed threads are tight threads.
I wanted to build my own simple exhaust rom the cat back, so I bought a cheapo muffler and some straight and pre bent exhaust tubing.
The muffler was really cheap, like $35 bucks. I think it was called a magnaflow. It is a small single chamber muffler. Dimensions are about 10"x12"x4", with a 2.5" inlet/outlet. It tucked up and hanged nicely, got it spitting out the side in front of the rear tire, nascar style.

Also I ordered a "Gianelli" cheapo full exhaust for my Yamaha R1 many years ago and also have been very happy with that.
I'd wish you luck, but you probably won't need it, should be fine. Post back results, cheers.

@jerkyboyxiii

You are probably in uncharted territory with that Y pipe. I say that due to lack of responses.

That said... your feedback on the parts you receive would certainly be appreciated here at TRS. It very well may help other members if they end up in a similar situation.

Hope the exhaust goes on without any troubles...

UPDATE: Got the exhaust pieces in the mail today! Nice quality, esp for the price. Only one cat has honeycomb in the cat pipe. There is a bit of slag on the three-hole flange, but that will clean up with no issues. Question: what quality bolts have yall used? 316 stainless? 17-4 pH? I hate rotting bolts...

That is a good question. I never considered anything besides regular grade 8. I haven't noticed any rot yet, although in CA rot,rust is not a big issue. I do always hit exhaust bolts with penetrating oil before removal.

UPDATE: The headers have yet to be installed, but since they came with an EGR port on for both banks, I ordered AN10 caps to delete the EGR system. I didnt use aluminum caps bc of the exhaust heat, I searched for steel caps and am happy with the Aeroquip quality.

UPDATE: The headers had some issues. Driver's side went on easily. The dipstick tube had to be bent a bit to work, but no biggie. The passenger's side collector to y pipe flange had to be trimmed so it didnt hit the oil filter mount. Additionally, the flange at the primaries had to get a couple U cuts in order to make clearance for the sparkplugs. The y pipe is definitely not working. I am having it towed to an exh shop so they can finish my exhaust. A flowmaster super 44 will finish it off and be dumped under the bed.

Well, the y pipe from ebay was nice, but it turned out ro be too narrow. My exhaust guy is whining that he doesnt wanna mod it to make it work (my window for return is closed). He will supposedly make one for me. Other than that, here are some before n after pics:

UPDATE: my buddy agreed to help mod the y pipe to make it work. Countless scenarios of install/drop/cut/tack, re-install, but the y is installed. Once we figured out how to make it wide enough, we had to find a route around the driveshaft. Before n after pics:
