I think the eb d30 has a 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern which makes the defense of this swap harder. The availability/after market support of an xj d30 and similar track width and bolt pattern of a ranger at least gives a few legs for the argument for to stand on. However that's not to say it can't b done. If you are cheap like myself and are just after the thrill well then OK. But I think you're better off sitting on the eb 30 until you could find a buyer for it, then use those funds for something else. Another question, are the eb30s HP or LP?

hmmm, that makes it less desirable, but ultimately it's up to you. I guess point is my vote would go against it, but it ain't my rig so take it as you will. Best of luck to you with whatever you decide.

no the dana 30 is weaker than your dana 35, but if you do put it under your ranger i'll swap you some parts as i have a 30 under a 69 bronco frame in the back 40 and your just going to love drum brakes on the front axle :icon_rofl:

and too bad your in Cali, as i have a 93 ranger already sas'd that i'm parting with D44 and 9 in with 4.56 gears out of a 75 eb sport

Ya if i use it it will definantly get a disk brake conversion kit for it. I guess i just liked the radius arm/coil spring design of the eb axles.

you can get a full width cut down and under the ranger cheaper than buy a disk brake swap package for it as you will still have the weak kingpin front end on the dana 30

Personally, I wouldn't put an EB D30 under your truck, it is weaker then the Jeep D30. If you want to put a D30 under your truck, I would start with a HP D30 from a Jeep.

Either try to part it out, sell it, or sell it for scrap.

Solid axles are overrated.
Keep what you have. It's stronger, rides better, and can be set up for similar or even better performance offroad.

If you find a HP fullwidth 44, I will narrow one for you for a fee :D I am in the area.

I believe I am close to you.

FWIW, I wouldn't anchor a boat with a EB D30...narrow a HP D44 or swap to a FW HP D44 with the RA coil setup...it is pretty easy.
