hello, I am thinking that the latch mechanism in the door is worn and needs to be replaced. The hinges seem good. The door seems to be in alignment. The catch or striker seems to be good.
When the door is latched it moves to the point where you want to slam the door to close it but it still jiggles when latched.
Can anyone confirm that I need to replace the mechanism inside the door? thanks, much appreciated. So they still make those parts or is that a junk yard item?

you can move the striker pole on the frame to move the door in or out, when its closed. the striker pole loosens and can be moved up, down, or fore and aft, or a combination of up/down and fore/aft together.

i did mine on my 04 when i first got it because the doors rattled when driving and didn't sit flush with the cab

oh great, that is easy. I actually thought about taking the striker pole off and grinding the holes oblong. What your saying is there already is room for adjustment with the striker pole. Thanks that helps a lot.

yup, just put a big allen or torx bit in it and loosen it and you can move it to where you want it

Mark around the striker plate as it is, so you can see how much you're moving it-helps a lot. 🙂

Crossed threads are tight threads.
Great thread! My driver door never shuts all the way unless I close with just enough but not too much slam. If half shut, it rattles violently loud over nothing. So annoying! I'm gonna try some adjusting as well. Cheers.
