Ok, what do you do with them when they get dull?
Just going thru a recent battle drilling out the end of a pinch bolt that I had to cut the head off. I must've gone thru six different bits because they dulled so fast. I'm not talking about cheap ass bits. 15 to 18 bucks a piece. Some I had but three were brand spanking new.
But my question is what do I do with them now? Can they be resharpened? Drill Doctor?
And I have coffe can full of older bits that virtually useless. I know I'm not alone.
So what do you do with yours?
You are not alone. I have a drill doctor, it kinda works, very hit and miss for me. I might get an industrial sharpener. I pretty much toss em if they snap or have been sharpened a bunch of times. I mostly work with mild steel, so I use 135 degree bits.
Sometimes I just sharpen em on the bench grinder when I'm in a steady handed mood.
I also finally sprung for a drill index drawer like the ones we have at work. It has 3 labeled divided drawers for a handful of every size in 1/64's from 1/16" up to 1/2". I organized all my bits into this and it has really organized drill life.
