Is one option stronger and more stable than the other?

If you drive on the road more 50% of the time or more, I would HIGHLY suggest using TREs.

If I understand correctly I order 1 ton tie rod ends from a f 350 or something and ream out the holes in my pitman arm and my steering linage... correct? How do I get the size and taper/ angle reamer right? I know I am showing just how green I am on the subject. The process sounds easy but screwing it up and finding new parts wouldn't be.

After many many pages of research for my own build, I strongly suggest against the taper inserts. The hole would be so big that your pitman arm and knuckles would be very weak. I was going to go this route but knowledgable gurus have advised me against it and have saved me from having to replace those parts after they break. And the reason you go with Chevy one tons is because they are stronger/slightly bigger shaft and are more readily available.

Just some things to consider. Other than that, crawlin and brinker are right on point

I did some checking around at local performance shops and 1 one of them told me the chev tre's are 18mm and 1.5 pitch. They also said they couldn't get the bungs to fit. Where did you guys get the bungs? And was the local shop correct on the thread? They recommended I get tre's that use standard thread because they bith carried all types and sizes.
