Hi all, brand new owner to a 2011 regular cab Ranger…will post more once I get a chance.

I drove it home 2 hours yesterday and there was significant air noise from the top of the door. I notice no movement in the door when checking the hinges/pins/bushings. However there is some resistance when shutting, just before it gets to the striker. There is also a “squeak” coming from the bottom hinge. Hinges are filthy right now. I don’t have any white lithium but am thinking of trying it first. There is a link to pics below - does anything else stick out or anything I should try before potentially replacing the hinge?

Pics and Video:
Thanks!

Wonder if maybe she was in a fender bender?

Does it look like the fender or door were repaired/replaced and painted?

I’m unaware of one - truck is single owner from a close family friend. They said it has not been in any accidents but who knows. There is some bent metal on the bottom corner of the door on the latch side, though it almost looks like something was in the door one time when they tried slamming it close. Not sure. Will post a pic of that corner when I get back down to the truck today.

If you open the door all the way and lift up on it, how much play is in the hinges? None at all?

None…that was my first thought as I had to replace the pins/bushings on my old F150 years ago.

It might just be the camera angle but it sort of looks like the body line below the window doesn't quite line up. I was thinking maybe it had dropped a bit and was binding.

Otherwise maybe something shifted in that bottom hinge? I don't know what the proper term is for the "detent" mechanism in that hinge... Maybe it's that?

Edit: you mentioned the door might have been slammed on something… bent door would explain quite a bit too

edit 2: finally got to hear the sound- that really does sound like something binding in that bottom hinge
