Door Ajar Inop

Hello
My driver side door ajar sensor is inoperative. whenever i open the door the dome light is NOT turned on, and no door ajar light on the dash.
Occasionally if i do not close the door firmly and the door slightly opens and closes the ajar light will come on and dome light lights as well.
Any suggestions?

The switch for the dome light and the door ajar light are part of the door latch assembly. It sounds like it is sticking. Try dousing latch with wd-40. That has been known to work in the past. You will have to pull the door card and pull back the plastic moisture barrier to get at the back side where you need to spray it.
