I am doing the clutch conversion with the 1993 Ranger 4.0L set up, but, the question is what slave cyl/release bearing should i use? The 1993 will require new plumbing, but, is the 1985 usable? The 1985 is WAY expensive, probably because it fits so few models, so, I may considering new plumbing anyway.

Just wondering what other people did.

The 1993 stainless steel clutch hose looks nice, but, I might have to change the master along with it. Any feed back appreciated.

Did your 85 have the pilot bearing for the transmission pressed in the flywheel or was it pressed into the crankshaft of the 2.8?

Here's an article on swapping the 4.0 clutch in behind a 2.9. He is talking about starter fitment modifications also.
