Does anyone know what this piece is? It's off of my '87 Bronco II 4x4, goes under the front coil springs. I cannot for the life of me find what it is. I think it's some sort of bushing possibly?

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
I call it the spring seat. There is a metal piece like in your picture that locates the bottom of the spring. Then, usually a plastic piece (insulator) that sits on top of the seat, but under the spring to help reduce the noise, so you don't have a steel spring rubbing on a steal seat.

This part is also listed for my 2003 2WD Front coil spring truck, but I just took the springs out and there most definitely wasn't one in there on either side.

Would you happen to know if these were ever used on later coil spring trucks?
