I've seen a couple that say they have some "small patches". I haven't seen any that say they are spring loaded roofs, I'll have to pay more attention. This might be a dumb question, but is it possible to break while it's up - and have it collapse? I also have seen a couple that say they have broken cables - and they can be had for under a grand. I don't know if that means a cable is expensive, or a PITA to fix though....
I spent a little time in one... right after I was born.

The parents borrowed my mom's parent's pop-up. A HUGE storm popped up out of nowhere, the side deformed enough in the wind the door popped open and it ended up blowing off the jacks. We didn't miss rolling in the lake by much and dad spent the whole night holding the door shut. Luckily I slept through all of it. :D

I would think there would be some sort of lock to hold the thing up once you get it up, it would be a major bummer to have the thing collapse on you in the middle of the night. :icon_surprised:

I love tent camping, but when its more that a day or two with a dog or kids and a ton of crap its worth it, a little safer too. Its still pretty close to tent camping cause you're still roughing it, but just a little better.... especially in bad weather.
I've tent camped in bad weather with and without issues. Popup trailer still wouldn't be worth it in my mind.

i'll never have a popup after having one when i was younger... it was to much work. I'd rather have a nice sized GOOD tent. not a cheap tent with an overland, expo trailer. I really want one with a RTT...
