No idea... I see way an uncomfortable number of wire nuts involved here though. :stop:

What's the worst that could happen?
On my 94 Ranger 4.0, if the wires are black with a white stripe, I think they are the ground for the MAF and one other thing. Can't remember the other though and my book is outside.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Out for breakfast right now. Let me get home to a truck and an EVTM.

If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
Whatever it is, please get rid of all those wire nuts or they'll end up biting you. I'd solder the connections and heat shrink them- or at least use heat shrink butt connectors. Wire nuts don't belong on a vehicle or anything else that vibrates.

Looks like connector #C109. The end with the 2 black wires leads to the battery negative connector. One of the black/white wires goes to the RABS valve down in the frame rail. The other black/white wire goes to a splice and serves as negative/ground connection for a bunch of important things. I also agree that those connections need to be reworked properly for reliability.

So they both need to be grounded? From the looks of the diagram that's what I see. Correct me if I'm wrong please. Black wire is for sure ground. The black/white wire has positive voltage when tested with a multimeter

You testing that with the key ON?

If so... turn the key off and test again.

I can't test it currently since the truck isn't at my location but I will give it a test with the key off a little bit later and check back.

Also, the wire nuts are temporary, once we get the thing started it will be soldered, shrinked and put into a wire loom.

If they are the original wires to that connector, they may show 12 volts coming through the devices they connect to. The 2 black wires should go directly to the negative battery terminal.

There is a chance that there is a problem on one of those circuits, causing a parasitic draw on the battery. If that's the case, you'll need to troubleshoot and track it down and fix it. Might be why the wires were cut., although disconnecting the plug sure seems to be easier and less destructive.

I put those two wires directly onto the negative terminal and it fixed the problem of the car not starting, thank you so much, now my engine does idle abit high but i believe it might be a vacuum leak

I was going to say, those look familiar… someone cut them on my Choptop as well and I put them back on the battery where they belong. I really don’t understand why they often seem to get cut instead of just unplugged if there’s a problem. It’s not like the plug is hard to find…
