I got them for free. Just wondering if anyone recognizes them, or knows what they came from. I can't find any stampings or markings. They were electric seats but the motor must be mounted in the car, and not the seats. No marking on the electronics either.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Look comfy.

They ARE comfy. The side bolsters have their own support that keep you snug. They're not just "pillows" with no support. The brackets seem to have been hacked awhile ago, because I don't see how or what they were mounted with/to.

The Headrest looks "Volvo-ish"

Not sure what the pull rope does. The seat hinges are rusted pretty good and I can't get anything to move yet.

How about a picture of the controller? Mabey someone might recognize the font on it or something.

Volvos wierd headrests had a middle "bar" that went through.. the middle of the opening in it. They were also more square.. didn't really contour the top of the seat iirc.

I really think they are custom seats from a conversion van or something...but that headrest really throws a wildcard into it.

The material pattern screams Bush Sr Era. The bolstering has to be domestic...nothing foreign (that ive seen) has anything that even looks as comfy as those do.

Theres no stampings on any of the exposed metal?

I had some seats with that type of fabric in a '87 Chevy Nova... AKA Toyota Corolla. They really scream Toyota at me but I could be very wrong.

Any chance they aren't automotive at all? Maybe some old theater seating or something?

Edit: That switch looks suspiciously like THIS. So I'd look for seats from some GM product.

No Stampings on the metal, or the electronics, that I could find. The seats don't seem to have a recline or lean forward functions, so @rusty ol ranger may be on to something with the "conversion van" theory, but that would also lean towards "sports car" too. .. and yes @SenorNoob that switch looks a lot like the one I have.

I was able to find the AMC logo on the switch cover with #8955010396 but couldn't get anything from the interwebs.

They would have to be later AMC toward the end of their run. Ive never seen seats like that in anything pre 80s. Wonder if they came from like an alliance or one of the other various rebadged renaults they were peddling in the 80s? But that control switch does look GM

If you look at the last 5 digits, it looks like they were scratched and re-stamped, so you may be on to something, again.
