I searched and didn't find any reference to this but this weekend, my display completely changed the format without my intervention. Is this an automatic update by Ford or something? Sure would've been nice if they'd told us. It's like going to a new version of Windows on a computer. Completely new look. And so far I don't care for it. The display has been possessed ever since the day I bought it brand new too. Does weird things.

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Mine changes every time I hit a bump.

Ummm probably a dumb question but how does a truck update itself? Does it have it's own built in cell service or something? I know they can update while connected to your phone or home wifi but didn't know they could do it themselves without any outside connections.

You can attach it to your cell service. Makes the truck it's own hotspot. I think when I checked ATT wanted like 7 dollars a month.

Ahhh ok I was gonna say stuff like that usually isn't free, I doubted ford was giving away a free cell service plan. :icon_rofl:

I know on my moms 2020 edge it won't update unless you're in it and the phone is synced up, then updates through your cell phone connection. 7 bucks a month aint bad to give it it's own hotspot though, I'll mention that to her. Thanks.

I saved my 7 bucks haha. Most new phones have a hot spot option. I just turn my phones on. That's how I updated my sync. I connect truck to my phone. Updated sitting in car rider line waiting to pick up the little one from school..

Our 2019 Ranger doesn't do the updates. We didn't sign up for Ford Pass. I thought about it... until I read the terms of contract.
