Hey gang,
I want to do a compression test to check the head gasket but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to disconnect fuel lines to perform the compression test. To cut ignition I'd disconnect the distributor, I did this to perform a simple glove test but I am not convinced. Any help is appreciated.

Just put a push button on the starter solenoid and crank it over like that. You don't need to disconnect the fuel lines or the the ignition. Just get the engine to crank over with out the key and your good (without key power the computer wont turn on so you wont get fuel or spark). Its easier to jump the starter solenoid since its on the passenger fender in the engine bay. You can watch your compression tester right as you crank it over.

Instead of a push button I've been lazy and just used a screw driver across the starter solenoid many times. A push button with clamps is the more professional way of doing it.

or if you're dead set on cranking the key without disconnecting the relay just hold the throttle all the way to the floor and it will enter clear flood mode and all the injectors will stay off.

If he hasn't done the zip tie mod on the throttle cable, it may not be at WOT when the pedal is on the floor.

Yeah i wouldnt trust that method. Stretched cable, leaky injector, etc could still cause a start.

Could be a fun adventure if it isn't
