Difference between 08-09 FX4 and Sport 4X4

I am looking at 08-09 Sport 4X4 and the FX4. What are the major differences are?

Ford has never had a posi, and never will, it's a limited slip OR a traction loc

08-09 fx4 were the takeover of the level ii, but didn't get as much stuff, they are a much nicer interior, and have a few other things, come only in supercab, only with the 4.0 (sport can come with 2.3, 3.0, or 4.0)

Honestly, find a 07 level II, they are WAY nicer, and come with a 31 spline 8.8 torsen differential... The only other ford to ever have a torsen stock, I believe was the 2005+ gt500

(torsens I believe were in the 02-07 level II's only)

And I also think the 07 level II's were a Canada only vehicle... I seem to remember they discontinued the fx4 ranger line earlier in the states... 07 was the last year in Canada for the level II for sure...

I just looked at a 2009 Ranger FX4 model. Nice truck but the sales persons were donkeys. Looked at an 08 sport with 21000 km on it but a little out of my price range and 08 sport with 68000 km and its in my price range.

Which is the better gearing for fuel millage. 3.73 or 4.10 gears?

Depends on tires, environment, driving habits. With no outside influences 3.73 is technically better cause the engine spins slower for the same number of rotations at the wheel.

for our roads, (i'm in calgary) with stock tires, the 3.73's are better for highway, and the 4.10's are better for in city driving...

fwiw, with my 4.10's and 33"s i'm shifting at 2000 rpm in the city... people get annoyed with me, but i don't have the money to pay for gas right now, so sucks to them...

my 4.0 SOHC was getting 404km to a 70$ tank (113.9/L) with a "blown" o2 sensor, so we shall see what i get now that it's been replaced

Well I went and bought a brand new FX4 Ranger. Fully loaded with 4.10 ls axels and a 5 speed standard.
