needed because you can monitor sensor output voltage over time and watch for dropouts or static, ect. and then pause and review. some also take snapshots

what can you tell from this capture? you would NEVER be able to see this problem without a scope

i use the snap on MODIS at the shop i work, but i plan to get a PC based lab scope for home use, they are actually pretty affordable

another plus is that some have ignition scope capabilities. i've used this on the modis to track down a cracked spark plug causing lack of power in a brand new 380hp ford 302.

and another time to find molten spark plug wires causing backfires in a motorhome where access is limited to actually get in and check

There has to be more people with data based lab/graphing meter

THere so cool=less ball busting.

I wish I knew what one was and how to use them. I love working on cars. Unfortunately for me 4 times I tried for shop in high school and always ended up with home ec. Lucky for me Im a persistent bastard and spent the last 16 working on my owns cars whether or not I knew what I was doing. I learned alot. I daignose almost everything by common sense, hearing, and process of elimination.
